The KINTSUGI barrel leg jeans are cut from 68.2% cotton, 25.8% polyester, 6% viscose, 410gsm (12.1 oz) thick denim. The fit is loose with a curved barrel leg and a mid-rise waist, sizes S–2XL, in Jeans Blue (mid vintage wash).
Broken, and still beautiful. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold lacquer so the repair becomes the most beautiful part of the piece. KINTSUGI is a mid-blue vintage-wash barrel jean printed as if the wearer’s right front thigh shattered like a ceramic bowl and was mended in gold: a network of gold-coloured seams radiating from an impact point, with a small sumi box label reading 金継ぎ and 壊れて、なお美しい (“broken, and still beautiful”). The print stays on the thigh and stops above the knee. On the wearer’s left back thigh below the pocket, a large 金継 is split along one gold crack that runs down to the FORMLESS lockup. 金継ぎ (kintsugi) means “golden joinery.”
